OUR STORY

Good beer, great company.

Our story starts as five mates keen on good beer and great company. Having each rambled far and wide, we returned home to share stories over that high and mighty liquor: beer. A community soon formed. We became a small home brew club to reproduce what we had found abroad. As new members joined and others moved on, some of us wanted to share what we had created.

Ramblers Ale Works is us sharing that community with you. A place to find good beer, a place to find fine food, and a place to come together. A modern brew-house building on tradition yet embracing innovation.

However far you’ve traveled, however long you’ve been gone: Ramblers Ale Works is a beacon for travelers and locals alike. A place for all to call their own.

OUR BEER

Globally inspired, locally made.

Ramblers Ale Works is all about beer. At the heart of our venue will be a small-batch brewery: a 5 hL dual vessel system produced by Melbourne based Spark Breweries and Distilleries. Six conical fermenters will turn our wort into beer, and six brite tanks which can be plumbed straight from tank to tap to serve you the freshest frothies possible.

Our beers are globally inspired and encompass the full breadth of existing and emerging styles from around the world. We pay homage to tradition yet explore the new in creating beer for all tastes and occasions.

Our beers explore the full gamut of local and imported ingredients. A base of Victorian malt and hops is complemented by international additions to create the styles of the world whilst supporting local.

Most of all, our beers intend to be balanced. A good beer is one you go back for. The right amount of hops. The right amount of malt. The right contribution from yeast, bacteria, and water. Drinkable.

OUR PEOPLE

Ramblers Ale Works is locally owned and operated by members of our home brew club. From the get go we believed it was important to transfer the key aspects of the club to the brewery: an easy going attitude and a commitment to quality.

You’ll experience our easy-going attitude when you step through the door. Want to customize that mixed six-pack? Done. Need to charge your phone? Got you covered. Want to push those tables together? Go for it.

You’ll also read it on our cans, and you’ll also hear it from our brewers. But when it comes to brewing, we get serious. Brewing is more than an art, it is a science requiring precision and attention to detail. Ramblers Ale Works is committed to achieving the highest standards of beer quality.
